Coach Daren Ward is in the second year of his second tenure at Gentry, currently serving as Head Coach of the Lady Pioneers Basketball program. With 18 years of experience in education, Coach Ward is in his 10th year overall with the Gentry School District, having originally begun his teaching and coaching career here in 2008.

During his previous time in the district, Coach Ward was named Gentry School District Teacher of the Year in 2011 and led the junior high girls basketball team to both a conference and district championship in 2013.

A graduate of Fayetteville High School and the University of Arkansas, Coach Ward is deeply committed to the development of student-athletes both on and off the court. He and his wife of 17 years, Amanda, live in Gentry with their three daughters: Hannah, Caroline, and Maggie.
